carol and helen, hello. i'm fairly new to the program but i have had the bilateral dbs and it was the greatest thing in the world. i went to my neurosurgeon 's office today (dr. marc goldman) and ask him about the age factor and he said that age has nothing to do withb surgery only mental agility and physical agility are factors. judging by the emails i've read from both of you , you are both "sharp as a tack". dr. goldman said he performed several on people in their 70's and all were fine. so ladies, go for it. i can vouch for the surgery , i went from a wheelchair and 1 1/4 sinemet tablets per hour to none. i amoff all meds. jim stinson [log in to unmask] 334-749-3349 ps i went today to dr goldman's office today for an adjustment. he does the computer (his wife part of the time) his office is located in columbus , ga. ------ i'drather he handle the adjusted because all the neurologist i have run into want to push pill after pill after pill.i was dx when i was 31 and i'm now 54 so i've had park. for 23 yrs.this past summer i water skiied because of medtonics(they make the dbs ) and dr marc goldman (the neurosurgeon). jim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
