Dee, Thank you for adding what I so blindly neglected. <"I'm hearing of more and more people who are hosting golf tournaments, running in fund-raiser marathons, lobbying their congressmen, sending their "PD story" to newspapers (Deborah) and donating to PD Foundations."> It is because of these people and what they ARE doing that I asked myself.."What can I do?". It is because of these people and what they ARE doing that I found my courage. Motivation does not start in an isolation tank nor does it come without having someone to catalyst it on. You are so right, people ARE doing things, wonderful things, to help find a cure. I am greatful that I have come to know some of them and I cheer for their efforts. I also stand in awe at the battles that have been fought for the public education of PD which has paved for us the ability to even think that we will be heard. Again, Thank You for adding this very important point. Deborah aka Tenacity Wins But for the Grace of God, Go I! Rayilyn, There are people out there who are taking action in the cause to find a cure for Parkinson's! Thank God! I get discouraged too and sometimes feel that my words are falling on deaf ears. But, I am hearing from more and more people here in the forum who ARE listening and ARE taking action. When I hear of your efforts to contact your congressman and e-mail your local newspapers I am encouraged. I'm hearing of more and more people who are hosting golf tournaments, running in fund-raiser marathons, lobbying their congressmen, sending their "PD story" to newspapers (Deborah) and donating to PD Foundations. This month (tomorrow) I will again call my Congressmen...squeaky wheels you know. I also plan to print out form letters from the "Coalition for Advancement of Medical Research" web site and take them to my support group next week so they can each get them mailed to our Congressmen. I've posted a message on the "diabetes bulletin board" alerting them about the urgency of contacting their congressmen to vote for therapeutic cloning for research. I hope to get some good responses there. Don't be discouraged....be active for a cure.
