Hi Again Mary Jo -
Thanks for your quick reply. I am really hoping Kaiser still uses
Emory for Parkinson's. The last time we were at the mountains I had a lot
of pain in my arm and I was sent to an orthopedic Surgeon at Piedmont so I
may have to go to Piedmont for PD to.
You didn't say if you lived in or around Atlanta. We often stay with
friends in Alpharetta but our hearts are at our mountain cabin. Ever been to
Helen? We live in the county on the other side of road from Helen.
You mention having used Artane. That was a deadly medicine for me.
Mirapex was my salvation.
I can identify with raising a child at your age. The Lord led us to
adopt a two year old little boy when I was 52 and I can't believe how much
harder he was to raise than our girls. Maybe because he had been neglected in
an orphanage his first two years, maybe because he was a boy and surely
because of my age. We went through some rough years but now at forty he is a
college grad. a very loving and appreciative son. Hang in there and know
that you will be blessed for your efforts.
Incidentally, I was probably about 53 when my first pd symptoms
appeared. All in all with a wonderful caregiver husband and a very
supportive family it has not been so bad until lately when the pills don't do
their thing like they did.
       Best wishes, helen
