My name is Paula from Pennsylvania. I had DBS on 10/30/00 at age 46 in
Philadelphia, PA. I am very glad NOW that I had it done, but I didn't
really find myself able to cut back on the drugs. It's supposed to stop
tremors immediately - even before they turn the stimulators on.
I didn't suffer from tremors, but had dystonia in my right foot and such
dyskenesia I was almost to the point of staying home when we had dinner
plans. Now I have no dyskenesia, but it took me a year TO FEEL BETTER, TO
KNOW THAT TO RISK NOTHING IS TO GAIN NOTHING. But all of us take different
meds & surgery might be too much for him. By the way, the day of the cure
I'm having a champagne brunch!!!!!!!
