I have found the following helpful. I usually am in bed by 10:30 or 11:00 and just like clockwork I wake up between 2 and 2:30 - wide awake and rarin' to go. I lay there a half hour or so an if still not sleepy I get up. I either watch TV, read or do sit down jobs. Sometimes I get sleepy again and go back to bed (around 4 usually). If not I stay up and greet my better half when he arises. My neuro has advised me not to take a long nap during the day - only a half hour or less. I seem to exist with less sleep than I used to. I have tried over the counter sleep helpers but usually they have no effect. I have decided not to worry about lack of sleep - if I'm tired enough I'll make up for it the next night or so. I think the main thing is not to dwell on it and realize it's not the end of the world. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and have rheumatoid arthuritis to boot. Very trying some days. I am on Mirapex and Sinimet.
