Emily,(Nice name, it is my daughter's name too) I have spoken to M.J. Fox after I had my surgery done (when he used to come in the chat room) and he seemed curious about my DBS, he has had the traditional Palidotomy which helped his symptoms for a while, but I agree he doesn't look good, but then he has Parkinson's.
