Jim "Parky" Wetherell Cycles for Parkinsons

8 Day/500 mile Parkinson Survivor Ride May 15, 2002

Jim “Parky” Wetherell has Parkinson’s. Yet he challenges his disease by
cycling hundreds of miles. On May 15th, Parky will embark on an 8 day/500
mile “Parkinson’s Survivor Ride”.

This is Parky’s third such journey, but his first time raising funds for
The Parkinson Alliance. Parky will begin in Hemet, California, meandering
various towns, until he joins with the Great Western Bicycle Rally.

In 2000 Parky received a standing ovation from some 1,500 riders at the
Great Western Bicycle Rally awards banquet when it was announced that he
had ridden the farthest.

At the Rally last year, Parky was elected to be the "Honorary Mayor of
Bicycletown-2002.”

Please join us in applauding Parky. You can e-mail him encouragement at
