I was diagnosed with PD about four years ago when a tremor became noticeable
on my left side. I began taking Sinemet at that time. Two years ago my neuro
started me on Mirapex in addition to the Sinemet. I am a strong believer in
the effects of Mirapex having had no marked change in my symptoms in the past
six months nor for that matter since I began taking Mirapex. I only see the
neuro every six months having had the most recent visit on April 5. He gave
me the routine tests and stated my gait has not worsened nor had I lost any
control of my extremities. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and find that
much more difficult to manage than the PD. I cannot state with authority that
Mirapex has slowed the progression but since my neuro is the director of the
Parkinson's Ass'n of Greater Orlando and is closely associated with Dr.
Lieberman, the National Director, I must lean towards the agonist as my
"miracle" drug. The imput by members of the "list" is invaluable to me just
as it is to so many of you around the world. Marilyn, [log in to unmask]
