Hello to all:

My name is Lorraine Carter, and I work as an Instructional Designer in the Centre for Continuing at Education at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. I also teach as a sessional faculty member in our Department of English. It is wearing both these hats that I am composing this message.

Presently, I am involved in a research project with our School of Nursing, and am looking for an instrument that might help us assess possible connections between what we are observing in the written contributions of registered nurses in an on-line discussion forum in a specialty nursing health assessment initiative and superior levels of academic discourse as they involve learners connecting with other learners as well as faculty members with learners. We are also interested in literature and assessment tools related to the concepts of hardiness and self-efficacy as they involve academic writing.

If anyone has thoughts or suggestions around the above, I would be most appreciative.

Many thanks.

Lorraine
