Jan, Please make an appointment with a Parkinson's Disease Specialist also called a Movement Disorder Specialist who is a neurologist who SPECIALIZES in Parkinson's Disease. I can't impress on you too much that medications should be started, changed, and discontinued ONLY under the direct supervision of a specialist who has knowledge and experience with these medications. The medications are powerful and alter the chemicals in your brain to hopefully give you a better quality of life while trying to prevent as many side effects as possible and prolong the benefit of these drugs as the disease progresses.
