Tom, You asked why I asked this question to begin with. My sister saw her neurologist this past week and he suggested her stopping the Eldepryl she has been on for 7 years as a possible solution for help with her sleeping problem. He said one side effect of Eldepryl can be sleep difficulites. When Edna asked about coming off it, he said that the Eldeprly probably wasn't doing anything for her at this point and that she could just stop the drug without it being tapered down and discontinued. She didn't want to add a sleeping medication to the mix so she agreed to stop the Eldepryl to see if she slept better. Within a couple days Edna said she was feeling "bad"...she said her "internal" tremors had returned, she had a headache that wouldn't quit and she felt "bad" all over. She went back onto Eldepryl and these symptoms went away. She evidently is one that does derive some symptomatic relief from Eldeprly and wants to stay on it. Gail PS. Tom, Edna is on Eldepryl because her Movement Disorder PD Specialist said that if she was diagnosed with PD, she would take Eldepryl herself.....and the doctor who suggested to stop the Eldepryl is employed by a HMO. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
