Thank you Mary Lou ... every call, email and letter helps !
This is an election year too!
Tell your Senator that you are a * CONSTITUENT*,
then he'll know that you put food on his table!

What the Parkinson's Action Network is pushing for is 3 things.

ALL are important and need to be pushed.

We need both of your Senators to

#1 OPPOSE the BROWNBACK BILL S. 1899 and
SUPPORT the SPECTOR , et al BILL S. 2439

#2 FULLY FUND NIH's PARKINSON'S DISEASE RESEARCH AGENDA
I'll send you an easy to read graph showing the moneys that need to
be released to Parkinson's Research which NIH itself said was
needed if you email me and request it ... jpeg attachment.
"Funding For The NIH'S Parkinson's Disease Research Agenda".

#3 SUPPORT the Department of Defense Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment
Program [NETRP] and continue this program in the fiscal year 2003 with
the $52.5 million it needs to focus on research into possible environmental
causes and risk factors in PD.

Parkinson's Disease is the ONLY disease that NIH says is now curable !

The science is way ahead of the funding for research and NIH already
has the funds given by Congress to do it. We want our Congress people
to use what influence they have to gently persuade NIH committees to
allocate the needed funds to Parkinson's research and by doing so this
disease cure can be accomplished.

So many other neurological diseases can be cured by the benefits of this research.
Tell your Senators that when stem cell research is funded not
only Parkinson's Disease but Alzheimer's, diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis,
ALS, spinal cord injury and so many other diseases will have applications
for this technology .... it will have a domino effect in cures for so many
Americans suffering from these diseases.

This is an historic issue,
it is a hot issue,
and it's on the table NOW being decided.
I can't stress that too much...
it may very well be now or never.

Hugs,
Gail Vass
