Hello all,
I have had PD for 9 years, started when I was 38 (after a bad fall hitting
the back of my head.) About 5 years ago I developed PD related dystonia in
my legs and feet, VERY painful cramping. I have been on several medications
the last being Mirapex all of which made me SICK so I don't take them any
more. I'm saving sinemet for a last resort. I have tried acupuncture which
helped the dystonia in the beginning but after a while the needles and
electric current just irritated my system. I have decided to fight this
disease in my own way with exercise, nutrition, and alternative therapies. I
am investigating the possibilities of glutithione, fava beans, etc. as future
options. I did find that kava kava helped the dystonia but it is bad for
parkys because it blocks the dopamine receptors. If anyone out there has any
info on alternative therapies I would love to hear from you.

Thanks and God Bless!
