Don,
One of the things I've tried on occasion for dry mouth or thickened
mucose is a Chinese herbal called Fritillaria. The label says it contains
Fritillary seed (Fritillaria cirrhosa), Milkwort root (Polygala
tenufolia), Platycodon root (Platycodon grandiflorum), Orange peel and
Liquorice root. I've used it very seldom since my diagnosis with PD,
because I'm not sure of it's compatability with PD meds. I'm currently on
3x generic sinimet 50-200ER with Comtan, Norvasc and Flomax. I'd be
grateful if someone participating in PEIN would comment on interactions or
conflicts of this herbal.
    Still looking for answers, Geo.

Thanks for responding, B. Larson. I really do appreciate the
info.
In my case it is difficult to believe the cause lies in acid reflux now as
the only problem I ever experienced with a chronic acid reflux condition
was when I was on Requip. I remember seeing one response from a PD patient
when I wrote Dr Lieberman. The symptoms that individual encountered
sounded
like ours. He had been on Requip also but when he had changed medication
to
Sinemet the "sticky mouth" had disappeared. Interestingly, he also
described it as "rubber cement". Best wishes for the future and thanks
again.
