Hi! Don and Larson:
I am newbie for PD. Howevr, this is the first time I am hearing about
acid reflux in PD. I am not aware of acid reflux causing thickned saliva,
although this defect has been reported by other PWP. However, it makes
sense not to take any food several hours before going to bed and I am glad
it worked for you, Larson. Another trick my doctors suggested for acid
reflex is to raise your head more than normal when you sleep either with
additional pillows or raise the head of your bed by about 4-6" or both.
I use to be suffering from acid reflex even before I was diagnozed with
PD. I use to take a lot of Gaviscon, especially the one without aluminum.
However, after I started taking green tea first thing in the morning, I
do not have this problem. This is an unexpected benefit for me; I do not
need Gaviscon any more.
    My 3 cents worth.
    Raj
