I am 35 years old and I have Parkinson's. While Michael J. Fox has brought this disease into the public eye that is not enough, he simply opened the doors for all of us, young and old. Even today when I tell someone that I have Parkinson's I get one of three answers: 1. I'm sorry. 2. Do you mean your grandmother/father does? 3. Oh--like Michael J. Fox! We have to let the world know that Mike is not the only young person suffering from Parkinson's! How do we do that? For starters write a column to your editorial or opinions section of your newspapers, get interviewed on the radio/tv, speak out at a public forum, or simply wear a Parkinson's t-shirt. I "challenge" all of you to write an editorial for your local papers today describing the issues and growing problem of young onset Parkinson's disease and how SCNT is our best hope! I have letters from 14, 17, and 19 year olds dealing with this degenerative disease. Will you help us get the word out? .....Together we can win!
