The Report Calls for recommends two courses of action: 1 . A congressionally enacted ban on all attempts at cloning-to-produce-children and a four-year national moratorium (a temporary ban) on human cloning-for-biomedical-research. 2. A congressionally enacted ban on all attempts at cloning-to-produce-children while preserving the freedom of cloning-for-biomedical-research. These recommendations and the background behind them may be read here: Recommendations While a moratorium may sound like a compromise to many Senators, it is a thinly veiled attempt at banning this important research. ALL Senators and the President need to hear from YOU that a moratorium is equal to a ban and for many of us counting on this technology--death.. More than ever, we need you to contact your Senators and the President to let them know that SCNT is vital to providing potential cures to many diseases--such as Parkinson's. Ask them to rally support for the second action, a congressionally enacted ban on all attempts at cloning-to-produce-children while preserving the freedom of cloning-for-biomedical-research.
