Dear Dr. Levesque:

I, too, write on behalf of Deborah Henderson-Setzer even though I have
discovered that you have, thankfully, agreed to examine her.

With Deborah's appointment set for July 24, you have taken her one step
closer to HOPE. Please take her another step farther to ACCEPTANCE into
your respected program. Unseen, but applauding you, will be the thousands
upon thousands of PDers and PD+ers along with those who haven't as yet
received a name for what it is they have. Together, they will move one step
closer to BELIEF, for if one of the group can at least be given the
opportunity, maybe there will be true "quality of life" futures for those
who remain!

It was improved "quality of life" that Deborah wrote about when she first
joined us. She had already had surgery followed by an horrific brain
infection, and her symptoms were becoming more dire by the day. Not once
did it occur to her to give up or give in. She easily laughed at herself,
and from the beginning, put everyone at ease. In addition, Deborah shared
her experiences in such an upbeat manner that she was able to give
first-hand information to those who contemplated surgery. Not once did I
view any negativism even on her worst days. She opened her heart and soul
to anyone who needed her--always with beauty and laughter at her side;
always with Robert standing close by.

Until her symptoms worsened, Deborah planned to spend her time working with
those in the PD family who needed her. She never thought of preserving her
strength. In fact she never really thought of herself first. I'm not sure
that she's thinking of herself now!

When you come down to it, Dr. Levesque, Deborah is the sunshine. She sees
the rainbows where others see clouds. She runs with the wind where others
seek shelter. She sees the beauty of the fields where others see weeds. We
need, Deborah, Dr. Levesque. Please take her to ACCEPTANCE, and we'll be
there, too, for we will be holding her hand!

Most sincerely,
Edith Love, aka
E of the headdress
