My takke foor whaat it is worth, I do watch with interest the acvancement of many things that have far flung impact. Not just in the area of PD. With regard to advancements in PD treatments or cures iwatch veryclosely and with mixedemotions. For it is this area thatwould have a direct and perhaps imediate impact on my life. Moral issues aside, the posibility of Frakensteinian-like horror dimenaiioon of sttemcell protests it is aappaarent to somee therre could geneticist outand about that couldd take a wrong turn with any new discovveries. It has never dawned on me that i might one day be a victim of genocide. I may be naive in my thinking up to this point but with changing vaalues toward a persons worth and the financial burdens of those whose quality of life does not meet the perceived levels of some, and other inconveniencies caused by sub-level performers genocide might could happen. Unbeleivable seeming to US citizens probably, to the aged of other cultures around the globe it is already legal to end a life based on its quality at either end of the spectrum of age. For now, I will look forward to anybrreaktrough that offers tried and proven results with egerness for all who will derive benefit. ----- Original Message ----- From: "vmehra" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Sunday, July 21, 2002 10:28 AM Subject: Question > Hello All, > > I am just reading this article by Tom Shakespeare, called " Losing the Plot" > It is about the discourse between genetic scientists and the people with > disability. > > According to him, people with disability look upon genetic advancements with > suspicion.
