My sister also did everything she could for almost 3 years to hide her PD.
The last straw was when one of her young daughter's friends said, "So, is
your mom a drunk, or what?" She was amazed that none of her adult friends
were amazed. Most were just waiting for her to "come out." Many had (out of
love and affection) done their own research and were simply biding their
time. Her co-workers were supportive and helped her shoulder some of the
heavier burdens. She now cannot remember why on earth she waited, and still
thinks of that "hiding time" as the most stressful of her Parkinson career.

I don't have PD, but I spend most of my waking hours working to defeat it and
I hope that every single person with PD (who feels up to it, of course) uses
every teaching moment they find. I want the entire world to know just how
much PD sucks - and how many of those we love are affected. When the world
gets good and sick of us they'll start throwing money at the cure - and then,
my friends, we will finally vanquish the beast.

Lets make some noise!!!! Meg
