Hi All.
I've finally worked up to just about 6mg per day, which was my neuro's
(movement disorders and PD specialist) hope for me. I, too, am concerned
about very PAINful muscle spasms. I was diagnosed in January of this year
and am 53 years old. I've been on Requip, titrating upward since May 1.

My exercise instructor (Callanetics) is a nurse and does various other
health-related things. She told me to find the central point of the spasm
and push my finger into it--deeply, but not to full pain--and HOLD IT FOR 2
MINUTES. User a timer or watch the second hand on a timepiece, because 2
minutes is important. Then you slowly back the pressure off of your finger.
This technique (myofacial release) has actually helped me a lot in the last
week. I'd been in tears with the pain and concerned for the future of it
(continuing). This gives me some control. Not perfect, but better than doing
nothing!

If you can't press that long yourself, have someone else do it. Or if the
spasm is in a place that works for this, put a tennis ball between the wall
and your spasm (particularly good for the back or butt) and lean into it for
2 minutes.

Pain killers don't seem to work on me, so I've felt pleased this week,
knowing I can improve the pain.
