Dear Janice,
I also have trouble lifting my legs. I cannot get up from a squatting
position either. I have to do it exactly as you describe. I also have
trouble raising my leg to get into the car -- even my husband's very low
Neon, and I get muscle spasms in my thighs. It is very painful for me to
lift my legs. I notice that you are on a low dose of Requip. It is my
understanding that 12 mg/day is the average dose. I was diagnosed in
January 2002, I'm 46 years old, and the only medication I take for my PD is
Requip. I take 12 mg/day, but am waiting to hear from my neurologist to see
about increasing the dose. I have constant tremor in my right arm,
occasional tremor in my right leg, left arm, and chin. My main problem is
the muscle pain and the weakness in my right hand. I also have gait
instability. I feel that what you are going through is PD related -- but
I'm no neuro, just a Parkie! --Katie from El Campo
