Dear List:

Robert Setzer just called me from New York 2:30 PST re Deborah's F-DOPA PET
scan which revealed dopamine levels that indicated only a "smidgeon" or
"hint" of Parkinson's Disease. To quote her Dr. "she ought to be dancing".

She may have something called "Chiari" which attacks the brain stem and has
to have a Glucose PET scan on Monday to determine if this is so.

She should have never had the DBS. (Do you understand why I'm so cautious re
meds and surgeries, why I'm skeptical of Drs?)

Everyone needs a F-DOPA PET scan (my conclusion)- I've been asking for years
"how do you know how much dopamine I have in my brain?" No answer.
According to Robert this scan has been done for 15 years. Why have my neuros
never mentioned it?. How can we get correct treatment if we are not
diagnosed correctly? Robert says you need both these scans for correct
diagnosis.

Dr. Vijay Dhwan 1-516-562-1128 at the Jewish Medical Center Resarch Center,
Long Island, New York does these scans.
