Dear Carol, I was diagnosed in 1977 so I feel I qualify as a Parkinson's senior citizen. I have tried most everything including a palloditomy and DBS without a great deal of success, although I am still undergoing the tuneups that follow the DBS. I won't give up till my hair grows back and I have to admit I had a $65,000 haircut. I am 69 years old and live in an assisted living section of a senior complex (has a nursing home and a reg. apartment section also) and I live in horror of being transferred to the nursing home section. I'm been a widow since 1976 and live in a suburb of Buffalo, NY. I don't think I'm terribly depressed although I'm awfully frustrated by the things I'm not able to do--drive, sew, etc, Be happy to answer any questions I can.
