The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the Federal Government is in the final stages of review of its "Evidence" review for Parkinson's. I was one of three lay reviewers of the draft document more than a year ago. The Quadpac (Quality Access and Delivery of Parkinson's Care) program of PDF is in the process of reviewing and comparing the two studies. The appearance of these two reports is important because they herald attention by professionals in the field and public policy makers to issues of quality of care for current PWP. To follow-up AHRQ intends take the lead (with encouragement from the Parkinson's Foundation) in an interagency (NIH, CDC, VA) effort to develop plans to fill gaps in research and improve quality of care.
