DEAR PARKINSON PALS:
I AM 48 AND was diagnosed approximately 3 l/2 years ago. My balance is my
most disabling symptom, insofar as I fall at least once a day. While
visiting family in Lousiville, KY, I saw a Parkinson specialist, a Dr.
Walter Olson, to the tune of $250 which unfortunately, my California HMO will
not cover. He did a thorough examination of me and more or less, concluded
that he thought I had Parkinsonism vs. P.D.
He switched my dosing of Mirapex from l mg. 3 x day to a titration schedule
which will eventually get me up to something like 12 or 15 a day! i'M ONLY
UP TO 5l/2 so far. Has anyone out there heard of this or had any first-hand
knowledge or this? I think he also will back me off of the Sinemet but that
comes later.
Other questions: what dose of Co-enzyme Q-10 is anyone taking and with
what kind of results please?
Who has enough knowledge to speak about Parkinsonism vs. Parkinson's
Diseaase?
Really appreciate having this wide, universal group of the list to share
thoughts, info with.. Thank you for being there.

       DIANA
