So I had a couple funny (and fowl) thoughts the other day.

Let me preface this by saying that as a person with YOPD (I'm 41, diagnosed
at 38), my biggest struggles (so far) are balance and speech.

So ... as I was hopping around the bathroom on one foot while trying to put
a sock on the other, trying hard to keep my balance, it occurred to me that
I'm glad I'm not a flamingo.

I had this image of a flock of flamingoes with PD, each standing on one leg
... and tipping over, left and right. :-)

OK, OK, so maybe it's not that funny, but it was enough to keep me laughing
through the day.

Next ....

It would be torture to have a parrot in my house, echoing what it hears. In
particular, I have problems with words beginning with 'P' .... and so this
poor parrot (named Polly, of course) would try to say, "Polly want a
cracker," and instead it would be something like:

"P.....P....P......P......darn it, I want a cracker!"

I appreciate this listserv group -- I'm getting lots of good advice /
support from y'all. Thanks for allowing me to be so bold as to submit this.

Cheers!
Joel
