Does anyone know about the policy of physical therapy at nursing homes?

PD patient went into the nursing home walking with assistance in March. He
was taken off physical therapy after 3 weeks...said he peaked. He was
placed back on physical therapy again in April for 3 weeks...said he was too
aggressive and would not do it anymore Tried to get them to at least get
him up and walk him. They would not do it. Now 5 months later cannot walk
with assistance.

Have had two PD DR's that prescribed physical therapy since that time..
Nursing home uses their own physical therapy staff and evaluates PD patient.
Overrules the PD Dr's and does not do physical therapy.

Now after writing letters to the nursing home they will now do restorative
therapy. This involves getting PD patient up and walking him (or trying to)
3 times a week. Will start next week (after 5 months). From what I
understand PD patients get stiff after lying in bed and their ligaments get
fixed so they will not stretch and allow him to walk.

Can I expect results without a physical therapist working on his ligaments?
