Meg and All, I think the idea of a National Unity Walk is splendid. All groups would be working together on our common goal - funding the research that will find the cure. It's thrilling to consider the awareness we could develop. I'm a part of APDA Atlanta and have chaired our annual Run/Walk more times than any sensible person would have. One of our consultants told us that a Run/Walk needs a catchy name that runners can remember. We thought of calling our run the "Shake a Leg" Run for a Parkinson's Cure. Our Board said it might offend some of our members, but many others, including the consultant, thought it was a wonderful name. So we used "Make It Happen" instead. But that didn't really catch on. Perhaps we could get some Hollywood types to be our national spokesperson (Heather Locklear?) so that we'd have gobs of publicity. If I can help, count me in. (My husband will have my head if he sees my offer.) I guess the first step would be to get the national groups to sign off on the idea. What do you think?
