Election Day in the U.S. is only a few weeks away. All of the House seats are up for election, as well as one-third of the Senate seats. State elections for governors and state legislatures have become increasingly important for health care concerns as state governments are increasingly addressing issues such as prescription coverage, long term care, disability rights, stem cell research, medical insurance and more. Do you know your candidates' viewpoints on health care and funding issues important to People with Parkinson’s? Fifty members of the Congressional Working Group on Parkinson's are running for relection in the House of Representatives - is your Representative one of them? See the GrassRootsConnection web site www.grassrootsconnection.com for web resources that voters can use to determine where candidates stand on these issues. This page will be frequently updated through Election Day. The GRC is an independent web site maintained by and for PWP, covering Parkinson's and health care advocacy issues. Also new on GRC: updated information on DBS Medicare coverage, California's new law on Stem cell research, Oregon's Measure 23 - proposal for universal health insurance, prescription drug coverage, and gene therapy trials. Please let me know if you would like to contribute an article or other information for the web site.
