There is a great deal of scam stuff about HGH on the Internet and
elsewhere. Some of the stuff sold as Growth Hormone is useless, as
HGH is a protein and has to be injected to be effective (taking it by
mouth results in the stomach's juices digesting it like a piece of
steak!).

Growth Hormone is useful when there is a deficiency of the substance,
such as in children with certain kinds of brain tumors and other
neurological disorders. Once you reach puberty, there is no longer a
need for HGH and the normal level drops to near-zero. An excessive
amount of HGH causes a condition called acromegaly, which is
characterized by changes in facial and other features, growth of
hands and feet, heart disease, diabetes, etc. Acromegaly occurs as a
disease with certain tumors of the pituitary gland, but can also
develop from use of excessive HGH.

The "anti-aging" effects of HGH have not been proven and are probably
false. Caveat emptor.

Best,

Bob
