Hi, My name is Anne Amoroso and I live in mid-coast ME. which is beautiful if any of you are familiar with the Coast of Maine. I was dx with a Parkinsons- Plus condition called Multiple System Atrophy / or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in Boston at MGH by a movement specialist in August of 2002 after a very long year of not knowing what was wrong with me, In August of 2001 I went to the hospital due to a fever and abdominal pains and I found out that my pancreas was infected by a question of gall stones. Now I don't even remember going to the hospital to this day due to the degree of how ill I had become so quickly. The next thing I remember was waking up in the ICU and not being able to move or speak or too recognize my husband and my daughters, Well apparently I had turned cyanotic and I suffered a seizure after the cyanonsis and it caused a very diffuse brain injury. To this day I can't write my own name, use a telephone very well and I am having a very hard time eating. I also have to take a lot of medicine for my hypertensionand other things that go along with being 50. MY breathing is getting bad again and I wheeze with inspiration almost all day when I am here at home but do you think that it would happen when the doctor is in the room with their stethoscope, of course not, now I have and inhaler which makes me turn red when I inhale the medication in it, So I quess that a phone call to the doctor to explain what is going on and to check on an appt with a breathing specialist, I have such a tough time eating and taking all of the pills that my weight keeps going down. I guesss the problems that I would like to receive a reply on are: does anyone else have a breathing problem with inspiratory wheezes My hands just lock up and freeze with trying to do something, is this unusual isn't it usually the feet that freeze,onstipation is an issue I did get an RX for miralax has anyone tried it yet and how is th e best way that you folks have found to take it. Loss of what little appetite that I used to have before is now gone. MY balance is off so that I don't drive anymore, I can't write even my name so that I can read itl. My memory is very poor for long term & short term alike and reading is also hard since I often can't remember what I have just read. The tremor that I have is of a high velocity and it is in all 4 extrmeties. I feel that everyday is a gift from God but boy oh boy who want all of these gifts all at once. I would appreciate it if anyone had any words of wisdom for me since I am going down hill at a breakneck speed. There isn't any support group here locally so I basically could use some ideas.
