I has a pallidotomy in September.1999. I had great response for about 3 months and then all of my symptoms gradually reappeared over the next three months until at 6 months post-op my symptoms had all returned along with their severity. I am one of the few that did not get optimal, long lasting results from a pallidotomy but a lot of patients have had long lasting results and I would not want to discourage any patient whose neuro recomends this procedure. /At this point in my life (25 years PD diagnosed at age 37) I don't intend to have DBS. I am waiting for a cure.
