Check into Select Comfort air beds. The are totally adjustable for firmness and each side of the bed can be adjusted separately. You select the firmness of the bed depending how you feel at the moment --- while you are in bed. You could make it firm for ease of getting in or out and then adjust to what is comfortable after you get in bed.
