Fatigue was a major factor by the time I was
diagnosed. All I can relate is my individual
experience, we all know PD effects and treatments are
different between individuals. When diagnosed, I was
started on very low dose Requip and told it would take
at least 6wks to kick in. I started acupuncture, it
helped improve strength, balance, mobility, but not
with fatigue. When I was started on a packaged Chinese
herb formula, containing ginseng and other herbs, my
staggering fatigue was reduced about 80-90% within a
few days. Sounds nuts, but it worked. If interested, I
suggest you find a practioner of Traditional Chinese
medicine, or an experienced herbalist, and talk over
your situation.
All the best--Neal

Les and Nancy,

Because this disease is so personalized, I hesitate to
offer
suggestions.
That said, what works for me is exercise. I know it
seems
counterintuitive,
but on days that I do not exercise, I definitely have
less energy. I
ordinarily use a treadmill, which is helpful if one's
balance is not
so
great. I go stir crazy, though, and get out a couple
days a week to
hike
nearby hills.
