Sorry, but the above is full of half-truths.  Administration of B12
is useless (other than to line the pockets of the drug companies and
the people who give the shots) unless there is documented deficiency
of the substance (and that is called "pernicious anemia"), and that
occurs only when there is NO normal stomach acid and a substance
called "Intrinsic Factor" which is needed for the absorption of B12
taken orally.  If someone has the condition ("pernicious anemia"),
the only way to absorb B12 is by injection because any B12 given by
mouth will not be absorbed.

It is impossible to give enough antacid by mouth to prevent
absorption of B12 through the stomach in patients who do not have
pernicious anemia.
