Dear Pat,
My name is Paula (from Pennsylvania) and I had deep brain stimulation
two years ago. The actual surgery was a breeze, but it took almost a year
til I felt I could say, "I'm so glad I had the surgery". It got rid of my
constant dyskinisia and also the painful dystonia of my right foot. I had
the surgery when I was 46. How bad are you at this point and how old? If I
would be 66, I'm not sure I would do it...and if I were 76 I am sure I would
not do it...my personal thoughts only. The good news is that it is
reversible.
Please feel free to write back. Best wishes. Paula from PA
