Well said, Bob. Thoughtful perspective. I would like to suggest that you
substitute the word "society" with the words "us" or "we". A society is a
group of people living together. Each one of us is part of the society. Our
society is organized with a structure and government for making rules or laws
that help us coexist in harmony. It is the government or people who make and
administer the rules that determine who is responsible for what actions in
the society. Our elected government officials should ideally allocate funds
and make rules that are best for our society. But this does not always
happen.

The government is made up of people. Each person votes in the way that is in
their best interest. This is human nature. Many rationalize that they are
doing what the people want and what they claim is best for society. What is
best for many of them is not always what is best for PWPs.

Our job is to make those elected officials understand that curing PD is in
the best interest of society and in their best interests too. What is every
elected official believed that they could not get elected if they did not
support curing PD. This would result in a society that acts in a more
responsible manner for our PD cause. A more compassionate society would be a
better society for us all.

Action Needed: Get involved in the process. Start with your representatives
to congress. Let's not just report of the failures of our society, but take
action to make it better.

Any thoughts?

George
