Hi, Raj, Thanks for the internet address of Dr. Paneri. As I said, I would be in LA area Dec. 7-21; at around 10 PM on Saturday, Dec. 7, I received an email from Dr. Paneri to call him at a number in LA. I called, and the man who answered identified himself as Nathan, a friend of Dr. Paneri; he was handling appointments; he said he was scheduling me for 9 AM on Sunday, Dec. 8; I turned over the phone to my daughter, Susan, for directions. We were able to see him at the place Nathan's place. Dr. Paneri felt my pulse and told me that he could cure me. He proceeded to give us some idea of what Ayurvedic Medicine was about. The treatment would consist in my taking his medicine, following a diet he would prescribe, and meditation. "In three years, you will be cured," he said with a good deal of conviction, confidence and assurance. And the cost? "A month's supply costs $90 + $5 for shipping or $190 for a two month supply. I will formulate your medicine when I get back to India, and you should receive your supply in early January." My wife, Lydia, told him that we would be willing to go to India for treatment. "That won't be necessary; in the course of your treatment, we will be in touch; but if you do not feel any improvement after two months or so, I'd be happy to have you come to India as my guests." He then turned on his laptop, and had Susan read aloud some email messages from his patients reporting on their progress. "Cure" was what I was looking for, although I did not know what that meant in the case of Parkinson’s for which western medicine has found no cure, until he told us that Nathan, his host, was one of his patients. On our way out, I asked Nathan about Dr. Paneri. "I owe him my life," he responded, and proceeded to tell us about his own case. Over ten years ago, he had a very bad case of Parkinson's; [he demonstrated by "violently" shaking his arms and legs]. One day, while he was traveling abroad, a stranger told him, "I see you've got Parkinson's. You should see this man," and handed him a calling card. Nathan took the card, and put it inside his passport, and forgot about what the stranger told him, until one day, he took out his passport, and out fell the card. On the card was Dr. Paneri's name and address. Nathan went to Dr. Paneri for treatment. "After two weeks or so of taking his medicine, I began to feel better; but when I skipped the medicine, the symptoms would come right back," Nathan said. "Around eight months or so of following his instructions, as strictly as I could, I felt I was back to my former self and decided to gradually decrease dosage of his medicine, until I was finally off it completely. I have not taken any of his medicine or any other medications for the past ten years. Just looking at your symptoms, he's going to cure you in a much shorter time: I was in a far worse condition than you." Nathan in such good health was more proof than I needed. I have another reason for seeking a cure from Parkinson's: my eldest brother has a very severe case of a neurological disease that has defied any diagnosis thus far by any of the specialists he had been to; as a direct result of this disease, he has not been able to lift both arms for almost five years; all his muscles are gone; both his arms hang by his side like two withered branches. In effect, his disease is similar to Parkinson’s, for which western conventional medicine has not found a cure. If Dr. Paneri has indeed found a cure for Parkinson’s (and I have seen one such cure in Nathan Zackheim), who knows he might also find a cure for my brother. If after two months on the Paneri regimen I find myself markedly improved, I intend to take my brother to India for treatment under Dr. Paneri. I will soon be undergoing some tests to determine if I am a candidate for DBS. My hope is that I won’t have to undergo invasive brain surgery, just to alleviate my symptoms.
