The 'Pope's papaya' has been amply commented some time ago here in France. Pr
Montagnier is a well known researcher....but no neurologist. His declaration
that he recommended his fermented papaya to the Pope came at the same time as
the announcement that that same papaya extract was being marketed at a high
price in France. TV ads, medai coverage, etc. No one ever said the pope was
taking the papaya extract. Not one article, TV program ever said the pope was
taking it, only that it had been recommnded by Montagnier. Not quite the same
thing.
Asked about this so called antioxydant effect on AIDS patients, the Pr
Montagnier said there was some unfinished study on 11 AIDS patients somewhere
in Africa who seemed to be better after trying the famous papaya. Nothing
written ( so he said).
If anyone wants to try that very expensive fermented papaya, they are free to
do so. It will certainly make someone rich
