Dear Joan:
You should not feel apologetic for raining in on me or anybody else for
that matter. We are all in the same boat. Some of us are way ahead of
others in terms of progresion of the disease. Some have good response to
these drugs, for others the drugs make things worse. We all have to judge
our next step based on our experience. That is why, even when some of the
doubting Thomases evolved into abusing Thomases, it does not bother me. I
have taken my health in my hands and shall follow my instinct as to which
step is good for me. As you have experienced, I may also have
disappointments and I am ready for that.
When my first MDS did not ant to see me again just because I sought a
second opinion, I had no choice than to take charge of my disease and read
about anything and everything on PD. I am glad I did that; otherwise, I
would be following blindly the prescripton drugs, without knowing anyting
about them. I also read some horror stories about the detrimental effects
of some of these drugs. Now I have become a better informed patient.
I just posted the result of my short experience with the Ayurvedic
medicine, in response to Nilo's qerry. If in the long run, this helps me
even better, I shall post my exerience. If it does not help, I shall post
that info too.
