Hello -

A year ago my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's - the diagnonsis coming one
week after my dad died. Having been to 3 neurologists, it was a 4th in the
same office who diagnosed her with Parkinson's within minutes.

We were told my mom, who is now 73, had a mild case of Parkinson's. She has
been on ever-increasing dosages of Mirapex since this time. She has slightly
improved insofar as energy levels, appetite and attitude are concerned.
She's always been a very optimistic, energetic and stoic person. She has
really declined in these areas in the last year, with less and less energy.
She has good days about every other day.

Her back is constantly in pain, as are her feet. She's been told that those
conditions are arthritis-related, but I can't help but wonder if they're
really due to the Parkinson's.

Her neurologist seems to have lost interest, despite assuring her he could
vastly improve her balance and energy levels.

My question is whether we should continue pursuing other opinions and trying
alternative courses of treatment.

Thank you for your insight.
