This is a quote which got my attention: "Finding staff, maintaining staff morale, and keeping staff is an ongoing problem with nursing homes....most employees could make more money working at McDonald's.......with less hassle." The above may be true for people who change the sheets, clean the floors etc. But I suppose there are different types of jobs in a nursing home. The type of job you are referring to is one that involves care and direct contact with patients. I am curious what people at McDonald's make .... and what people who care for patients at Nursing homes make. As there are probably regional differences the jobs would have to be in the same town or area. I would be very surprised if the people in the nursing home do not make more money than at McDonald's. So maybe the question is one of motivation and management at the nursing home. K. F.
