Progression may vary depending upon the individual.
if progression has been slow, does progression accelerate in bursts at
times, or does the rate stay
> mostly steady?
> also, does anyone have any experience with extended hospital stays and

It is not uncomon that the rate of progression may occur in small
bursts. Usually, one will have better days and bad days. As the days pass
by one notices worsening progression of the symptoms compared to 3 or 6
months before. Also, it is likely that inactivity may also favor
deterioration of mobility. Any serious illness or old age can also see rapid
progresion of the symptoms. If something like this happens, one can
sometimes regain the ability to move by slow and steady exercise without any
break. This happened to me recently. In Sep, due to too much travelling nd
loss of sleep, I was not able to do my regular exercise for about 10 days.
This was a big mistake. When I returned home, my attempt at jogging and
other exercises were not successful. My right leg canno stand any amount of
walking. It took m e almost three weeks to slowly educate mhy body and brng
it back to my original level of exercise and activity. Only today, I did my
full quotta of exercises that I use to do back in Sep.
