Follow the news about NIH research funding - Bush has commanded Congress to freeze funding for almost all areas in the Labor, Education and Health Appropriations at last year's level - ending the existing 5 year effort to double the NIH budget , and putting the Parkinson's Research Agenda funding in jeopardy. The Senate just recently ppassed its version of the Omnibus Appropriations Bill. Bush's appointments to many medical advisory committees have been based more on agreeing with his political and religious agenda than on the medical issues. You need to study the record - not just listen to speech rhetoric.
