Dear Kim,
I am a 49 year old female who was diagnosed with PD when I was 37. I
had DBS (deep brain stimulation)
10/30/2000 on both sides and it was a success. But before and after surgery
I had pain in my legs. After surgery I had both swollen legs from upper
thigh to my toes. Morphine didn't help - just stopped my screaming for
awhile. No one at the hospital had any answers for me, but my family doctor
sent me to get leg pumps at a local medical supply store. I put them on
faithfully three times a day, an hour at a time, and little by little my
legs got better. If interested, I can tell you in more detail about the leg
pumps. Paula
