Mary: I agree with you fully. We have a long way to go before we can hope to gain "cure" for PD and related disease by this technology. But, the problem because of this politics, seems to be at the starting point. It is true that stem cell implants caused dyskenesia; but I do not have any info on the frequency of this occrrence. So does sinemet and so does DBS in some cases. But, we don't seem to abandon these procedures. My point is this. We should let the scientists work on the possibility of using stem cells for different diseases including PD. I am taking a course on Neuroanatomy and Physiology currently. It is a very fascinating and difficult field to follow, mainly because it is full of different names for different parts of the brain. However, I am having a great time learning more about what might be going wrong in my brain because of PD.
