if people choose to sit back and wait for a cure, fine. many of us are trying
to be part of the process inching toward that illusive cure, or at least
better treatments while the scientists do their thing.
this is not a right or wrong issue, not black or white. what has happened, it
appears, is some of us have made parkinson related statements which are also
political. in response to those statements, others have chosen to get
personal.
our president is a grown up...if we don't like his policies there is no other
way to move forward than to attribute those policies to him and his
administration.
the anger and inability to thoughtfully discuss, vent and yes, even rage
against those policies and differ in the process is very sad. my husband had
parkinson's over 13 years and died last august 31 of lung cancer.
i am still fighting for your cure as are so many others who only want a fair
shot at this thing. people on this list not only learn from each other about
PD but are out there knocking themselves out to try to keep parkinson on the
radar screen with politicians. someone has to do it or we're sunk. don't
mistake the disgust of some over policy with personal nastiness and
authoritarian behavior. we have to fight hard or we're doomed..but we don't
have to fight with each other..we can agree to disagree. but we must not stop
bringing up issues directly related to PD.
if we can talk about incontinence aren't we mature enough to talk about
government policy?
