Hi all,

I have developed and created some new and novell methods to help ease the problem of dyskenesia (involuntary movements). I use these every day and they usually work. My neuro just shakes his head in amazement. My dyskemesia usually occurs between 4-7 pm and varies from very mild to severe. I have had PD for at least 25 years and I had the DBS in STN in 1997

Solution 1
I take 5 sinemet 100 per day and a sinemet 200 CR at 8 pm. I have tried parlodel / bronmocrptime but I now use an agonist that in Australia is called Cabaser. It works for 18 hours in conjunction with levpdopa /Sinemet. I was taking 2 mg at 8 am and 4 mg at 8 pm .When I first started to take it , it took 18 days before I felt any benefit.

In trying to figure it out why i was getting 4-7 pm dyskenesia, I concluded that since my 8pm Cabaser 4 was taking effect at about 4 am ( 8 hours), then my 8am Cabaser 2, was taking effect also 8 hours later at 4 pm. The 8 pm dose is taken with a Sinemet CR , whereas the daytime dose is Sinemet 100 every 3 hours.

So I tried removing the 8 am Cabaser of 2 mg and it reduces, by about 33%, my 4-7 pm dyskinesia but it also comes at the expense of more stiffness after 4 pm but still good result.

Solution 2
Protein takes priority over any medcaition destined for the brain for up to 3 hours. In other words protein takes the fast train to the brain and makes the medication wait. Protein is all dairy products and meat. I have already proven proteins priority to be true, so i limit my protein as follows ,breakfast 5%, lunch 10% ,dinner 85%. I then concluded that if too much protein stopped my medication getting to the brain, then maybe this is exactly what I wanted. A bit of reverse enginering was needed. So I thought that if I drank a litre of milk ( ie liquid protein disperses quickly) at 4 pm it would slow the dyskinesia. Sure enough it worked in slowing my dyskenesia

Solution 3
When I get my 4-7 pm dyskenesia , I lay on the bed on my back. I get most of my problem in my right arm. So I do the following. I put the bottomm of my right foot against the right side of my left knee while moving the right side of my right knee flat on the bed. I have now made a triangle with my right leg flat on the bed. Within a few minutes my dyskenesia slows down

Solution 4
Lie on the bed and do deep breathing using only your nose. Breath deep into the diaphram

Would anyone who tries these solutions for a week please give me some feedback

Michael J Fox is giving a huge sum of money to study dyskenesa. If you have his email address, please forward to him
