Go talk to a labor lawyer.  That sounds almost exactly like what happened
to me in the gift shop that I worked in.  The next thing you should do is
start applying for other jobs.  The law does not require you to disclose
your illness.  If your boss is like mine was,  the next move will be to
make you so miserable that you quit.
I don't know where you live, but in Wisconsin we have a Coalition for
Advocacy (office in our state capital) with lawyers who help people who
have been discriminated against.

sure.  This all happened to me in 2000.
By the way, I was 52 and am now on Social security, medicare & recently
medicaid.
